The 2013 Chrysler 200 had its beginnings as a concept car unveiled in 2009 and eventually went into production in 2010 as a replacement for the Chrysler Sebring Sedan. The introduction of the Chrysler 200 has signaled a major change by Chrysler and Dodge to begin selling cars with a big sedan look and feel.

UNDER THE HOOD

This makes it very important for the car manufacturers to design their cars with plenty of options when it comes to engines and transmissions. Chrysler did a great job with the 2013 Chrysler 200 when it comes to available engine/transmission selection. They offered models that are capable of excellent fuel economy and modest performance as well as models that deliver high performance, yet still meet government requirements for fuel economy.

The base model 2013 Chrysler 200 LX comes with a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder engine (172 hp) accompanied by either a four-speed or 6 speed automatic transmission, yielding a mileage of 10 L/100km (city) and 6.9 L/100km (highway) or 10.6 L/100km (city) and 6.5 L/100km (highway) respectively. The upgraded engine offered in the Touring or Limited edition is a 3.6 liter V6 Pentastar (283 hp) with six-speed automatic transmission giving a 11 L/100km (city) and 6.8 L/100km (highway) fuel economy.

CH013_014TW__midLike all nicely equipped sedans, the 2013 Chrysler 200 is outfitted with a great selection of standard features and yet still has plenty of room for extras. This includes an available S-package adding plenty of bling to the Touring and Limited Edition Chrysler 200 Sedans.

CH013_015TW__midThe base 2013 Chrysler 200 sedan comes with finely appointed interior including a single piece instrument panel with soft touch dash, interior trim accents, steering wheel mounted controls, power windows/mirrors/locks, air conditioning, LED lighting and adjustable armrest.

Included as standard safety features, are dual stage driver and passenger airbags with side seat airbags, side curtain airbags and reactive front head restraints. Security alarm and keyless entry and trunk release are also standard.

There is plenty to be impressed with on the exterior of the 2013 Chrysler 200 as well. The beefy exterior gives it plenty of road presence with its sharp and sleek lines. The stock 17” steel wheels fit perfectly with look and for the bling, the S-package includes 18” wheels for the Touring and Limited edition models. Add to this, the halogen projector highlights, chrome grill and trademark winged badge and you’re all set to hit the road in style.

It looks like the US car manufacturers finally have woken up and realized that the North American car buyer is no longer just going to sit back and buy whatever the Big 3 automakers are putting out. Chrysler has a real winner on their hands with their 2013 Chrysler 200. Its beefy sedan look, sleek lines, well appointed interior and shiny new paint job, definitely make it a sweet ride.
