2014 Volkswagen CC Review

2014 Volkswagen CC Exterior Front Side

Shorter, wider and lower to the ground than the VW Passat, the 2014 Volkswagen CC is a more streamlined car exudes performance, luxury and style. As Volkswagen’s top of the line sedan, the 2014 VW CC provides a smooth and exhilarating drive while keeping its driver and passengers coddled in the lavish interior. Even the base model CC comes equipped with more than just the necessities, making the affordable pricing an attractive option.

ENGINE & DRIVE

The 2014 Volkswagen CC comes equipped with a 2.0L turbo charged four cylinder engine, outputting 200 horsepower and lots of torque at lower RPMs. Paired with an automatic six speed transmission, the 2014 VW CC attains a fuel economy of 6.6 L/100km on the highway and 9.7 L/100km in the city. Having driven the CC over a combined 310 kms, we attained a 10.5 L/100km fuel consumption.

This turbo charged engine provides a quiet and smooth drive, while having plenty of power at hand when needed. The responsive acceleration and smooth gear transitions, provide passengers with a nimble yet powerful ride.

The top of the line Highline version comes with an option for the upgraded V6 engine and four wheel drive.

INTERIOR & EXTERIOR

The 2014 Volkswagen CC, originally created as the Passat CC, has done much to differentiate itself from the VW Passat. The more intriguing exterior with bolder lines and curves will pique the interest of many on the outside, while the more luxurious and refined cabin will please its passengers on the inside. With a wider stance that’s lower to the ground than the VW Passat, the sloped aerodynamic exterior of the 2014 Volkswagen CC conveys the air of a performance sedan.

Turning LED headlights brighten around corners during turns, while a side headlight illuminates alongside the road. I would like to see the turning headlight feature as a standard on all vehicles, because of its usefulness in night driving and the safety it provides while driving around dark corners. The LED tail lights also give the 2014 Volkswagen CC a modern night time look.

2014 Volkswagen CC Interior Dash

The sleek exterior lines of the 2014 Volkswagen CC are complimented by the clean lines and pleasing design of the interior cabin. The well thought out button placement, easy to use controls, multi-tiered dash and use of high quality materials, make it a pleasure sitting inside the 2014 VW CC.

The base model CC comes standard with many features usually only offered in an additional package, such as automatic wipers, leather seating, 12 way automatic driver’s seat, sport seating for all passengers, LED head & tail lights and keyless entry with start/stop button. However, being VW’s top of the line sedan, I would have liked to see navigation come standard.

2014 Volkswagen CC Interior Seating

The interior of the 2014 Volkswagen CC offers comfortable and firm, two-tone leatherette sport seating, for all its passengers along with plenty of leg and head room for 5 adults. The gigantic trunk space will fit almost any cargo.
