The 2015 Nissan Sentra offers a pleasing selection of technology, materials and functionality built into a small but versatile vehicle. The various levels of luxury and convenience allow buyers to opt for exactly what they will need and pay accordingly.

There is a solid overall feeling with the 2015 Nissan Sentra’s drive. A firm but comfortable ride, with responsive handling and smooth steering add to the overall solid feeling. Equipped with a 1.8L four cylinder engine outputting only 130 horsepower, the 2015 Sentra is surprisingly zippy and power doesn’t feel lacking even with a full load of passengers and cargo.

The smaller engine can yield a fuel economy rated at 8.9 L/100km in the city and 6.6 L/100km on the highway for the manual transmission and 8.0 L/100km (city) and 6.1 L/100km (highway) for the CVT. Our 250km combined highway/city test drive on a manual transmission yielded a 7.3 L/100km fuel economy.

Although the exterior of the 2015 Nissan Maxima appeared quite plain at first glance, the subtle styling cues eventually grew on me and made me realize it’s the type of elegant design that will last through time and never appear dated.

The interior is quiet and the ride is smooth, making the 2015 Nissan Sentra ideal for long road trips and relaxing drives. There is a reasonably well adorned interior on the base model, with a simple but elegant design of the dash and center console. The higher level models include higher quality materials, changing the atmosphere of the interior to a more luxurious feel. The sliding armrest is a thoughtful and welcomed addition, but the ability to adjust it vertically would perfect this feature.

The enormously spacious trunk was able to easily fit 3 large sets of golf clubs with plenty of room for a fourth set. It would be nice if the trunk hinges were encased rather than open to allow easier trunk closing with a full load.

The 2015 Nissan Sentra comes to the market in its base model S starting at $15,598 and ranges all the way up to the SL model priced at $24,398. With the 2015 Sentra voted a 2015 IIHS top safety pick, there’s plenty of reasons to take one for a test drive!
