2019 Nissan Rogue Review

What does everyone want in a daily driver? Here’s a hint – cargo space, versatility, comfort and enough power to get off to a flying start when the light turns green! The refreshed 2019 Nissan Rogue is an attractive and appealing choice for both younger and older buyers looking for well rounded compact crossover SUV. Competitively priced starting at $26,798, the 2019 Rogue brings all the great features of the fully redesigned 2017 Nissan Rogue but also adds some of the top of the line safety features as standard instead of options.

REFINED EXTERIOR

While the 2019 Nissan Rogue doesn’t get the full redesign, it still has a clean aesthetic look in keeping with the rest of the crossover SUV lineup, complete with a tallish body, and a beltline that rises in the direction of the rear pillar. Overall the exterior design of the 2019 Rogue creates a timeless and subtle presence with both charm and character and just the right amount of flare. It’s neither too over-the top nor too understated, just a perfect balance of each.

The front end of the 2019 Rogue sports the V-motion grille accompanied by chrome highlights and black piano trim surrounding the large Nissan logo. A bold and sporty bumper adds to the design thanks to the V-shaped vents and inlaid fog lights. Towards the bottom, a chin splitter cuts through the air paired with large fender flares which crease and curve around the entire wheel arch. The rear end of the 2019 Rogue matches the front end but is more subdued in design and flash. Lesser use of chrome and fewer accent lines make for a smoother and more refined appearance.

VERSATILE INTERIOR

The versatile interior of the 2019 Nissan Rogue is cozy, elegant and bright. Great quality materials are used throughout the high quality build and the design is really showcased with the two-tone brown and black leather interior. The simple and ergonomic layout of the controls along with the comfortable yet supportive seating really showcases how the 2019 Rogue is built for drivers.

The dash incorporates a 7-inch touch screen and just the right amount of buttons to control the rest of the features. All the modern technology is available to be included in the 2019 Rogue, like an Around View Monitor, Moving Object Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Emergency Braking, Lane Departure and much more. Many of these safety features are being bundled into Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite.

For the majority of buyers, the most important features of the interior of the 2019 Rogue are the spaciousness and versatility. The headroom is great but legroom is even better, all while having tons of cargo space. The versatility of the second row seats allow for folding, reclining or sliding back or forwards on tracks depending on the combination of passengers and cargo you intend to transport.

PERFORMANCE AND DRIVE

The 2019 Nissan Rogue keeps the same old trusty engine from many previous model years. It’s 2.5L four-cylinder engine outputs 170hp and is transversely mounted, which mean the Rogue is front-wheel drive in standard guise, but you can also opt for an all-wheel drive version if you will be driving in inclement weather.

The engine and drive configuration are paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which is the perfect choice for the Rogue. The smooth and effortless gear changes make the 2019 Rogue glide seamlessly throughout the acceleration, exactly what you’d want in a crossover SUV meant for cruising rather than racing! You really can’t notice it “shifting” gears during acceleration, it’s that smooth!

FINAL THOUGHTS

The 2019 Nissan Rogue combines an elegantly designed exterior with a high quality and versatile interior, making it a great all around choice for a broad spectrum of buyers. The smooth drive and bright, pleasant and spacious interior is sure to win you over, as will the starting price of $26,798. The 2019 Rogue is well worth a test drive so you can really compare what an all-around compact crossover SUV should include!
