BMW, like many automakers, is moving quickly to introduce plug-in hybrids. In fact, the Bavarian outfit plans to have a plug-in version of every model they sell. We’ve already driven a prototype of the plug-in-hybrid 3-series, and now the brand has unveiled a plug-in-hybrid version of the BMW X5, the X5 xDrive40e. (The “e” moniker was used by BMW in the past, when it stood for the company’s early-to-mid-1980s “eta” engines.
