2019 Hyundai Veloster N Review

Hyundai revealed the 2nd-generation Veloster at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. It features a brand new design from the previous generation and still retains the controversial asymmetrical 2+1 door configuration. The 2019 version of the Hyundai Veloster N has been unveiled and is sharper, stiffer and promises to be the best yet with a new range of equipment and fresh new looks appealing to a new kind of customer.

UNIQUE EXTERIOR

You could say the 2019 Hyundai Veloster is a unique car and either you like it or you don’t. There’s good news for those who previously chose the latter as the 2019 Veloster has been redesigned to give it sharper lines and more detailing than before, along with a performance version called the Veloster N.

From the front the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N now has the corporate Hyundai feel with an attractive colour contrasting trim enchanting the dramatic shape of the front fender. The trim continues along the side of the car while wide and high wheel arches give the 2019 Veloster a more dramatic road stance. It sits on massive 19-inch wheels and around the back, a dual exhaust shows the sporting pedigree of the Veloster N.

Attractive rear LED lights are split into three segments and a top rear spoiler shows the engineers were concentrating on handling when designing this vehicle. The whole feel of the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N really makes the driver want to jump in and find out what the rest of the car has to offer.

SPORTY INTERIOR

No one will be disappointed when stepping inside – if you want to feel cocooned inside a sporty cabin then the 2019 Veloster N is the car for you! The small sporty steering wheel encourages you to get involved and supportive seats keep you firmly planted when hitting the bends.

There’s an 8 inch touch screen within easy reach on the dash which features Apple Car Play and Android Auto as standard throughout the range of models. It’s a cozy cabin but made from excellent quality materials.

The 2019 Veloster gets new safety equipment as standard on all trims, including forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver-attention monitor. The exclusive ’N’ instrument cluster features sequential shift lights so you know when you are approaching red line, allowing you to enjoy the 2019 Veloster N to its full potential. ’N’ badging is featured throughout the cabin reminding you of the special features included in this exciting performance-oriented model.

PERFORMANCE AND DRIVE

According to Hyundai, the 2019 Veloster N was developed to feel as at home on the track as it was on the road. It achieves this by squeezing under the bonnet a tasty 2.0L turbo charged four cylinder gas engine outputting  a powerful 275hp.

Paired with a six speed manual transmission and rev matching, the whole system gives you all the tools you need to enjoy the electronically control suspension. When you have performance and power, then you need to know it stops. Hyundai have ensured this by fitting high performance disc brakes with fade resistance as standard giving you confidence when hitting the middle pedal.

The 2019 Veloster N really is designed to give driver satisfaction, which has definitely been achieved. Those with a passion for getting the most of their commute to work, will certainly enjoy this car.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster N starts at $34,999 and comes equipped with an extensive list of standard equipment and a focus on design, performance and safety. The 2019 Veloster N is by no means a big car, so you would be wise to make sure it fits your lifestyle, although it has a reasonable cargo capacity, you’ll struggle to fit friends and family comfortably in the back seats, so in reality this is a car for those who generally travel light.
