2020 Nissan Altima Review

Since 1992, Nissan has made the Altima – a great value for money, mid-size sedan popular around the world. Now in its sixth generation, the 2020 Nissan Altima offers an increased level of safety equipment, more powerful drivetrains and superb performance.

SPORTY EXTERIOR

The look of the 2020 Nissan Altima has never been better and it really stands out as one of the most attractive vehicles on offer from Nissan. A new deep grille with chrome inlay creates a massive V shape giving it a more aggressive feel. Angled, superbly designed LED headlights give the Altima more purpose from the front finishing off the front end perfectly.

From the rear, the design very much has a Lexus feel with slim tail lights and a high trunk line, making it appear very similar to its Japanese competitors. A floating roof line, ‘boomerang’ taillights wrap around the back end and dramatic lines makes the 2020 Altima a feast for the eyes from the side view. 19-inch frameless wheels feature a black-out design for a unique knife-like effect.

REFINED INTERIOR

Stepping into the 2020 Altima won’t set the world alight as it is certainly less dramatic than the exterior design. However, the simple design places all the right switches and levers where you would expect them, along with a large multimedia screen on the centre dash, which is extremely intuitive and easy to use.

Like most Nissans, the trims, materials and build are all top notch and the interior of the 2020 Altima is certainly a nice, comfortable place to sit. Choosing a top trim level will give you some attractive, modern wood grain trim while aluminum touches throughout the cabin give a more sporty feel.

The 2020 Nissan Altima is full of safety equipment and all the latest driving technology ensuring it stays one of the manufacturer’s best value cars.

PERFORMANCE ANC DRIVE

The 2020 Altima features an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system equipped as standard, alongside an all-new steering and suspension system, which provides confidence in all types of weather conditions. Under the hood is a 2.5L four cylinder DIG engine outputting 185hp.

As far as safety is concerned, the 2020 Altima gets brake assist, anti-lock braking system, airbags all round and intelligent forward collision warning system, just to name a few, all as standard. Drivers can have a smoother ride in the 2020 Altima thanks to its Active Ride Control which can automatically apply the brakes and adjust engine torque to smooth out imperfections on the road ahead.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Priced from $28,098 for the standard model, the 2020 Nissan Altima represents fantastic value for money. The new Altima is certainly geared up for the 21st century and retains the looks of a modern family sedan. Comparing it side by side against its competitors, the Altima ticks all the boxes and makes for a tempting option including a bold exterior design combined with a refined interior and sporty performance.
